When Children run from the School. . .

Now it's time to revise our education policy because when pupils run out of the school there is something wrong with the entire system. This is the story of the four students who ran from the school from Nandurbar to Dhadgaon which is published in "Lokmat". They were travelling by road but on their feet. They decided to run off the Ashram school to their home covering the distance of near about 125 km on their own feet. They did't had money to pay as fare of the bus. On the way, the people of a village called "lahan Shahade" inquired about them. They could'nt even speak or understand Marathi language. They even could'nt tell the name of their school. The gentlemen called the police and handed the children over to them.
What made me to strike is why the parents send their children to the school where their children are not safe. But I am also a teacher and I work in this district that's why I know the economical condition of the parents and the very tendancy of them to teach their children.
Most of the adivasi parents tend to send their children at anywhere without thinking the quality of the school or its education just because the school is ready to feed their children. The parents don't expect the education from them. They just send them because they have no other option.
If the student gets failed, he won't be able to attend the Ashram School again. This problem is also solved by the Govt. itself. It brought the Rule of Free and Compulsory education for each child. The law suggest that no student is to be failed upto Std. VIII.
This is nothing but the sin to keep poor adivasis uneducated. Though they will have the marks statement of Std. VIII but they will remain uneducated only.
